Zain Memon
For years, Zain Memon has been an unparalleled force of innovation in the Indian media landscape. At 25, he co-founded one of India’s most cutting-edge production houses, Memesys Culture Lab, the studio behind critically acclaimed films such as Ship of Theseus, An Insignificant Man, and Tumbbad.
Zain also introduced the country to virtual reality with ElseVR, India’s first and only VR journalism platform and set up the largest VR studio in South Asia, with clients ranging from Amnesty International to Disney. He has spearheaded the two largest crowdfunding campaigns in Indian history – An Insignificant Man and SHASN. He is also behind India’s first open-source film project for the national award-winning Ship of Theseus. His new media expertise encompasses a wide range, from VR, AR, film, and gaming to systems thinking and pedagogy. India’s most successful tabletop game designer, his latest venture, SHASN is ushering in nuanced political discourse and a new era of board gaming in the subcontinent. He is also leading the production for an entire slate of films, documentaries and episodic series at Memesys.
Zain is a regular speaker at many international events, media-tech conventions and educational institutes.
